The English second division club have announced the signing of the 23-year-old winger in this ongoing summer transfer window

London-born Ghanaian winger Kwame Poku has joined Championship side Queens Park Rangers from League One outfit Peterborough, the club have confirmed.

The talented winger was a transfer target for many suitors, with newly promoted Premier League side Sunderland, Scottish elite division duo Celtic and Rangers and Championship clubs Birmingham City and Sheffield United all credited with a move for his signature this summer.

That notwithstanding, the former top-flight campaigners have now secured his services ahead of the 2025-26 campaign having beat off competitions over his race in this current transfer market.

''QPR are delighted to confirm the arrival of Kwame Poku, who has joined from Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee,'' an excerpt of official confirmation read.

Opoku expressed his delight right after sealing his move to the Loftus Road, telling the club's official website: ''I feel like the project they're building here excites me and I want to be part of taking QPR to that next level. There's good players here and I think it's exciting times for the club.”

He added on his talks with the club's gaffer: ''When I was speaking to him he was talking about where he sees me fitting in and where he thinks I can influence the game. That's what really attracted me. Being 23 turning 24, I'm not quite young anymore so I want to come in and make my mark from the jump.”

He had a tremendous season after netting 12 goals and assisting 11 in 31 games for Peterborough across all competitions in the just ended season.

He has so far earned one cap for Ghana at the international level since switching nationality allegiance to represent the four-time African champions in 2021.
