The forward has joined the Danish top-flight side in this ongoing winter transfer window until the end of the current campaign

Danish Superliga side Viborg FF have acquired the loan services of Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari from Swedish Allsvanskan side Malmo FF.

The 23-year-old frontman, who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Slovakian elite division side Slovan Bratislava, will now finish the ongoing term in the Danish top-flight.

Those in charge of the Viborg Stadium have said they have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign, stating via their club's communications network: "Ghanaian Malik Abubakari is ready for VFF for the rest of the season. The striker is on loan in Malmö and VFF has secured a purchase option in the agreement."

Malik had this to share to his new employers after signing on the dotted line, telling the club's official website: " I have already got a really good impression of the club and have met some good people, so it feels great to be here. I have spoken to Razak Pimpong after I first heard about the interest from Viborg, and he has told me many good things about both the club and the city, so this has also given me great faith that VFF is the right place for me to be."

He added: "Here is an exciting project with an offensive style of play and many young players, which seems very attractive to be a part of. I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates and getting started playing, and of course also meeting all the fans, who I'm looking forward to playing for."

The Charity Stars youth product is yet to earn his international cap with the men's senior national team the Black Stars.
