The midfielder of Ghanaian descent has joined the Italian Second-Tier outfit on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign

 Serie B side AC Reggiana have announced the signing of Italian-born Ghanaian midfielder Justin Kumi on a six-month loan contract from US Sassuolo, the club have confirmed.

The 20-year-old is finding game time hard to come by at his parent club and has now been loaned out to the Reggio Emilia-based club for much playing minutes in the lower division contest for the rest of the season.

Announcing the loan deal, those in charge of the Mapei Stadium have stated via their club's official website: ''The Granata midfield is strengthened with the arrival of Justin Kumi . AC Reggiana announces the arrival on loan until the end of the season of the 2004-born midfielder owned by US Sassuolo. A product of the black-green youth system, last season he won the title of Italian Primavera champion and made his Serie A debut in the Sassuolo – Napoli match.

Prior to his season-long loan move, Kumi figured in 3 league games for US Sassuolo in this current 2024-25 Serie B football campaign.

Given his Ghanaian root, he still remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Italy U18 & U19 national youth teams.
