The 22-year-old forward of Ghanaian descent has joined the German top-flight side on a season-long loan deal ahead of the upcoming season

VfB Stuttgart have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian wing-forward Jamie Leweling on loan from fellow elite division side FC Union Berlin.

The ex-FC Nürnberg U16 youth star, who joined the 'Die Eisernen' from Bundesliga relegated outfit SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a four-year deal last term, completed his switch at the MHPArena after passing his mandatory medical tests earlier today.

An excerpt of a statement from VfB Stuttgart confirming the loan signing of the 22-year-old read: "VfB have signed Jamie Leweling with immediate effect. The 22-year-old is moving from Union Berlin to Stuttgart on loan for the coming season."

Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth had this to say right after capturing the talented wing-forward: "Jamie can be used in several positions. He gained Bundesliga experience in Fürth and at Union Berlin and proved his qualities. With his footballing skills and intense style of play, Jamie is an asset to our offensive game."

Leweling is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the German U19, U20 & U21 national youth teams
