As the new season approaches, Orlando Pirates' goalkeeper Richard Ofori is filled with anticipation for a successful campaign in the CAF Champions League.
Ofori considers the club's participation in this prestigious continental tournament as one of the most significant opportunities of his career to showcase his talent and earn admiration.
Being part of the group that will compete in the CAF Champions League brings great joy to the Ghanaian goalkeeper. He recognizes the tough competition they will face but remains determined to give their best effort.
Speaking from the team's training camp in Spain, Ofori emphasized that Orlando Pirates is focused on making a substantial impact in the Champions League.
He expressed his excitement, stating, “The CAF Champions League is one of the biggest tournaments we have on the African continent and it’s a dream to play in it. The competition is very good. As Orlando Pirates, we are in it to compete and not just there to add numbers. We’re going there to compete, and the other clubs know what Orlando Pirates can offer on a good day,” said Ofori.
Injuries have limited Ofori's playing time, with only 10 appearances in the Premier Soccer League during the 2022/23 season, matching his previous season's record. He also missed out on Ghana's final squad for the 2022 World Cup due to fitness concerns.
Therefore, Ofori is determined to maintain full fitness throughout the upcoming season and demonstrate his value to the Buccaneers to secure his place beyond the current campaign.
