Black Stars head coach Otto Addo was present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as part of Ghana’s ongoing efforts to closely monitor its Europe-based players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Addo attended the Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland as a guest of Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus, who has enjoyed an impressive start to life in North London following his summer move from West Ham United. The 24-year-old has quickly emerged as a key figure in Addo’s plans as Ghana intensifies preparations for the global showpiece to be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
However, the occasion took an unfortunate turn when Kudus was forced off the pitch after just 19 minutes due to an injury. The attacker was replaced by Randal Kolo Muani, bringing a premature end to what was expected to be another eye-catching performance from the in-form Black Stars talisman.
After the match, Addo spent time with Kudus to assess the situation, discuss the severity of the injury, and align on both short- and long-term plans as Ghana’s World Cup build-up gathers pace.
The former Borussia Dortmund player and coach is tasked with guiding Ghana to a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
