Ghana international Prince Osei-Owusu produced a sensational all-round performance to inspire CF Montreal to a commanding 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer action on Saturday.
The 29-year-old forward was directly involved in all four goals, scoring once and providing three assists in a dominant display that completely overwhelmed the Red Bulls, who also featured Ghanaian duo Sofo Mohammed and Ronald Donkor.
Owusu’s brilliance not only secured Montreal’s first win under interim head coach Philippe Eullaffroy but also marked a historic milestone for the club, as they recorded their 100th all-time victory at Stade Saputo.
He set the tone early, punishing a defensive mistake to assist the opening goal before stepping up to convert a penalty in the 39th minute with a composed stutter-step finish.
After the break, Owusu continued to dictate proceedings with exceptional vision and creativity. He delivered a perfectly weighted pass to create another goal before producing a delicate chipped assist to complete his hat-trick of assists and round off a flawless attacking performance.
Now with five goals and four assists in just eight MLS appearances in the 2026 season, Owusu is quickly emerging as one of the league’s most influential attacking figures.
Beyond the statistics, his leadership as captain and his ability to control games in the final third have become central to Montreal’s resurgence, underlining a player in peak form and full command of his craft.
