On Friday evening, Jong AZ Alkmaar secured a 3-1 victory over MVV Maastricht in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, with Ernest Poku on the scoresheet.
The first half was interesting, with Jong AZ taking a slight lead. In the fifth minute, Koen Kostons had a significant chance for MVV, but his header was caught by Daniel Deel. Meanwhile, Barasi threatened with a long-range shot.
In the 67th minute, Jong AZ took the lead when Jurre van Aken sent a brilliant pass to Iman Griffith, who was fouled by Rein van Helden in the penalty area.
The MVV defender was shown a red card, and Barasi converted the penalty kick. Despite their dominance, MVV managed to level the score at 1-1 in the 82nd minute through Dailon Livramento.
However, their joy was short-lived as a minute later, Jong AZ scored again. A cross from Van Aken found Stam unmarked at the far post, and the defender scored with a fine volley. In injury time, Poku sealed the win with Jong AZ's third goal.
