Black Stars winger, Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer has expressed delight for netting twice to fire Hamburger SV to a precious 1-2 away win at FC Köln in German Bundesliga II opener last night at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

The 22-year-old made the starting line up and was really outstanding throughout the game right from the start until he made way for Davie Selke in the dying embers of the game with 8.5 rating, according to Sofascore.

The mercurial wideman picked up from where he left off last season having netted a brace on the fifth minute and thirty minutes later to hand his side a handicap win at half time.

With twelve minutes to full time, Linton Maina pulled one back for the hosts for the scoreline to remain 1-2 after full time.

Speaking after the top-notch performance, Königsdörffer pointed some mistakes they made in the game but feels they still managed to win which is the most important.

"Every one of us gave everything. Despite small mistakes, what counts is that we won eventually. I'm glad that I was able to help the team today with my two goals."

Hamburger SV will host Hertha Berlin in the next round of matches at the Volksparkstadion on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
