Former Medeama SC forward, Jonathan Sowah has been included in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.
Sowah, has had consistent Black Stars invite in recent times including a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad but missed out in the last friendly against Nigeria and Uganda.
However, his blistering form at his new club Al Nasr Benghazi, having scored nine goals so far, with the recent one being the 4 goals he scored in a 6-3 win over Al Hilal, has earned him another spot in the senior national team squad, per reports.
The 24-year-old has been sensational since the start of the 2023/24 football season having netted 7 goals in 15 matches for Medeama SC in the CAF Confederations Cup and Ghana Premier League.
Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad for the crunchy World Cup qualifiers by the close of the week with players like Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Kudus Mohammed, Thomas Partey etc, all expected to make the cut.
Ghana will travel to Bamako to face Mali on June 6, before they host Central African Republic in the return encounter four days time.
