Ghanaian international Abdul Aziz Yakubu has joined Japan second-tier side Shimizu S-Pulse after leaving Portuguese side Rio Ave FC.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a fantastic three-year spell with the Green and Whites and really contributed immensely making one of the supporter's favourite at the Estádio dos Arcos.

In the just ended season, Abdul Aziz Yakubu was instrumental after returning from Chinese side Wuhan Three Town and netted six goals and created two assists in sixteen matches to help them maintain their status in the topflight.

The Rioavistas have announced on their official Facebook page that Abdul Aziz Yakubu is joining Shimizu S-Pulse with the details of the move not revealed.

The former Charity Stars striker is expected to join the Oranges as quick as possible and might make his debut at the Soyu Stadium when they play as guests to Blaublitz Akita this Sunday, June 23. 

Shimizu S-Pulse are currently leading the J.League 2 standing with 43 points after 20 round of matches.
