In-form Ghanaian striker, Bernard Tekpetey, has hinted that he will make a decision on his international future very soon following an impressive season with Ludogorets Razgrad in the Bulgarian league last season.

After failing to make much of an impact at Germany, featuring for the likes of Schalke 04, SC Paderborn and Fortuna Düsseldorf, but his move to Bulgaria in 2020 has appeared to be the perfect fit for him as he has rediscovered his goalscoring prowess.

As it stands, Tekpetey has found the net 30 times in 106 league appearances while also recording several assists in the Bulgarian Parva Liga.

His performances have gone unnoticed, with football enthusiasts claiming that the Black Stars constant overlooking of the goal monger will force him to switch nationality and represent Bulgaria as it will pay off and do him a lot of good in the near-future.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic last Saturday on the sidelines of a blood donation drive organized by his Bernard Tekpetey Foundation in Accra, the speedster said he would meet with his family and reveal who he will pledge his international allegiance to before leaving for Europe.

"It always circulates about my nationality switch because I have a Bulgarian passport. It is a very important decision that I will take with my family before leaving for pre-season," he said.

"Definitely, you will know of my decision before I leave for Bulgaria." Tekpetey, 26, also stated that he was looking for a new challenge in club football.

"The transfer window is already open and there are clubs I am speaking to. I hope I can face a different challenge in a new league as well."

In the recently concluded Bulgaria top-flight season, Tekpetey notched 15 goals and made 10 assists in all competitions for Ludogorets.
