Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson has spoken highly of Ghanaian winger Jordan Ayew after their precious 0-2 win over Burnley at Turf Moor last Saturday in an epic week 11 clash of the Premier League.
The 29-year-old striker was included in the starting line up as usual, and was in the thick of affairs to help the Eagles snatch a vital win to return on winning ways.
He sets up compatriots Jeffrey Schlupp for the opener on the 22nd minute before Tyrick Mitchell sealed the win with a cool finish in the dying embers of the game.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson after game lauded the performance of the Black Stars jewel and also the whole team for their die-hard performance to secure a crucial win as they hope to serge on with the same energy and momentum in their subsequent matches.
“We did realize that they are very good at playing out from the back,” Hodgson said of the game-plan.
“They do it well, but occasionally they are going to take the odd chance or two. We hoped that maybe we could punish one of the moments, perhaps when they didn't get it quite right. Jordan chose his time perfectly, won the ball, his cross was good, and Jeffrey Schlupp made up an enormous amount of ground to slide the ball in the goal."
The win marks the Eagles fourth league win of the season and are currently found tenth on the league log with 15 points.
Jordan Ayew has now scored one and provided three assists in eleven matches and will hope to continue with his fine form when they host Everton at the Selhurst Park on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
