Olivier Dall'Oglio, manager of Saint-Etienne has commended the signing of Ghanaian forward Augustine Boakye, insisting that he is a "big talent".
The former WAFA SC player joined the Ligue 1 returnees on a four-year contract from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in the summer transfer window.
Boakye has quickly joined his new peers for pre-season in France ahead of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season next month.
French tactician Olivier Dall'Oglio was asked why he decided to bring the Ghanaian pacey forward to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
"Augustine is a very promising young player, capable of playing across the attack. He is a very lively left-hander, which is what we wanted to complete the squad," he said after securing the services of Boakye.
"He is a profile that needs to be refined and comes from a different league to ours, but he is a great prospect! He speaks English, but also French, which will make his integration easier. I welcome him."
Last season, Boakye scored ten goals and accrued seven assists in 26 games in the Austrian Bundesliga with Wolfsberger AC.
