Sensational Ghanaian lateral Sumaila Awudu lived up to the height once again with another majestic performance for Clermont Foot B in their final preseason game and is looking forward to building on the same momentum subsequently.
The 19-year-old full back made the starting line up as usual and his outstanding display saw him last the entire duration in their 2-1 victory over Montpellier II in a friendly encounter last Saturday at the Stade Millot.
Awudu, as usual, was unplayable and very tough on the left side of defense, making it so fearsome for opponents to cross his path trying to exploit or build their attack from there.
His confidence level has really risen and is hoping for more game time in the main season with the ultimate target of getting into the first team who currently compete in the French Ligue 2.
The versatile defender has been very instrumental in the pre-season so far having trained with both the first and second team- where he featured for the senior side against St Étienne.
The Young Lancers will kickstart their 2024/25 season against FC Limonest Dardilly St-Didier in Group I of the French National 3 Championship on August 25.
