Ghanaian midfielder Shadrack Addo has taken a huge step forward in his career by joining Atletico Madrid on loan from Spanish club Trival Valderas until the conclusion of the 2025–26 season.

Following an agreement between the two clubs, the Spanish giants announced that Addo will play for their Juvenil A team, which competes in the Youth Division of Honour.

The move caps off an incredible ascent for the former Asante Kotoko star, who has steadily improved his profile in Spain over the last year.

Addo, who has Spanish and Ghanaian heritage, gained international attention after a solid start to the season with Trival Valderas' Juvenil A team.

His athletic midfield skills and high pressing were particularly impressive in games against Rayo Alcobendas and Real Madrid, when he even scored after forcing an error in build-up play.

Before heading to Europe, the midfielder played in the Ghana Premier League with Asante Kotoko, making 25 games and scoring once in two seasons.

His remarkable development was not ignored, with several prominent Spanish clubs, notably Real Madrid, Villarreal, and Girona, keeping close tabs on his progress.

However, Atletico made a bold move to capture his services, with sources saying that the player had been identified as part of the club's long-term youth development plan.
