Southampton gaffer, Nathan Jones is optimistic Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana will continue to develop after completing deadline day transfer from French side, Stade Rennais.

Sulemana joined Southampton in a £22 million deal ahead of fellow English Premier League(EPL) side Everton yesterday.

The 20-year-old will ply his trade at the St. Mary's stadium for the next four and half years until 2027.

Kamaldeen Sulemana scored six goals in forty-eight games for Rennes after joining them in June 2021.

Southampton are currently bottom of the EPL with fifteen points, two points adrift of safety, after twenty games.

After Kamaldeen Sulemana officially joined Southampton, Nathan Jones said: "This is another really positive addition for us this month. We've obviously been keen to add a little more potency to the side, and Kamaldeen is someone who does that for us.

"He's at a stage in his career where we feel he can help us in the immediate term, but also continue to grow and develop further into the future," he ended.
