Black Princesses captain Stella Nyamekye made her dream debut for Gotham FC in their emphatic 4-0 victory over Angel City FC in the United States' National Women's Soccer League.
Nyamekye, who arrived at the New Jersey-based outfit earlier this year, was introduced in the 82nd minute to make her first-ever appearance for the club.
The 19-year-old talented forward has been warming the bench of the Bats since the commencement of the 2025 National Women's Soccer League last month and had her debut on matchday five in an away win over Angel City FC.
She substituted American international Sarah Schupansky to enjoy seven minutes of the game action at the BMO Stadium.
Nyamekye had her breakthrough in the Ghana Women's Premier League three seasons at age 16, making headlines with her incredible performances, which earned her a call-up to the Ghana U17 (Black Maidens) and later becoming the skipper of the U20 team (Black Princesses).
She was nominated for the 2024 CAF Women's Young Player of the Year Award and lost to Morocco's Doha El Madani.
Nyamekye is currently a member of the senior women's national team of Ghana, the Black Queens, and is expected to make the squad for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be staged in Morocco from 5th to 26th July, 2025.
