English Championship club Sunderland have made a move for RC Lens midfielder Salis Abdul Samed as they seek to complete their business late in the summer transfer window.
According to L’Equipe a target has now emerged in the form of Samed for Black Cats making a contact over a potential deal in the latter stages of the window, with the Ghana international on the lookout for a new club having been told he has no future at RC Lens by new manager William Still.
The Pas-de-Calais based giants are keen to engineer an exit for the Ghanaian midfield Gongzilla, who is said to be interested in playing English football.
Samed scored just a single Ligue 1 goal, appearing in 35 games across all competitions in the 2023/24 season.
The 24-year-old had previously suffered a sprained ankle injury which stunted his development.
