The English top-flight returnees have shown the midfield enforcer the exit door after the end of his loan deal at the end of the just concluded campaign

Ghana international midfielder Salis Abdul Samed is returning to his parent club RC Lens after spending the 2024-25 football season on loan at newly-promoted Premier League side Sunderland.

The 25-year-old midfield enforcer did not enjoy his loan spell to the fullest after suffering from a calf injury which kept him on the sidelines for many part of the season.

ln an official statement, those in charge of the Stadium of Light have thanked the former Clermont Foot man in his role for their Premiership qualification this term.

''Following confirmation of Enzo Le Fée’s four-year contract at the Stadium of Light, all first-team players have been retained except Chris Mepham and Salis Abdul Samed, who return to their parent Clubs. Abdul Samed featured on 11 occasions and, in addition to his contributions on the field, he became an equally important figure in the dressing room throughout the campaign.''

Salis featured in 11 game appearances for The Black Cats across all competitions during the 2024-25 football campaign.

He currently boasts of 19 caps for the Ghana Men's National Team, the Black Stars at the international level so far in his footballing career.
