Former Ghana U23 winger Issah Abass climbed off the bench to score an important late goal to propel GD Chaves to victory over Benfica on Saturday evening.
GD Chaves exhibited a five-star performance to record a 1-0 win over league leaders, Benfica in the match-week 28 fixture at the Estadio Municipal Manuel Branco Teixeira.
After 90 minutes of no goal recorded, Issah Abass brilliantly registered his name on the score sheet on the 94th minute to hand GD Chaves all the three maximum points.
The Kumasi-born winger was introduced on the 71st minute of the game as replacement for Joao Correia.
Issah Abass has scored four goals in his 23 appearances for GD Chaves this season so far.
He was part of the Ghana U23 team that finished fourth place at the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
