After a poor challenge on Paris Saint Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has expressed regret and issued an apology to the Moroccan.
During the highly-anticipated Ligue 1 match between Lens and PSG on Saturday evening, the 22-year-old received his first-ever red card after just 19 minutes, causing a setback for Lens who had started the game brightly.
Salis, who is a dependable holding midfielder for RC Lens, was given a straight red card for the tackle. The absence of the Black Stars midfielder affected his team, leading to a 3-1 defeat to PSG on home turf.
Following the game, Salis took to social media to apologize to Achraf Hakimi, assuring him that he had no bad intentions with the challenge.
Très triste d’avoir abandonné l’équipe de cette façon.
