The talented teenager of Ghanaian descent has affirmed that the English elite division club and the German top-flight giants were all part of his potential suitors before joining up with The Little Ones this summer
Swedish-born Ghanaian starlet Sion Oppong has revealed that prior to his transfer move to Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC, Premier League outfit Bournemouth and Bundesliga titan Bayer Leverkusen all expressed interest in securing his services from Swedish Allsvenskan side IF Brommapojkarna during the summer transfer window of 2026.

Given his promising displays with his childhood club, the highly-rated budding star became a transfer target for many potential admirers across Europe, with Swedish tabloid newspaper Sport Expressen first reporting on the interest of the aforementioned clubs in his services.
That notwithstanding, the Ghana-prospect prodigy has confirmed that The Cherries and The Black and Reds were really among the clubs that were tracking him, but the French top division side's developmental plans over his career were enough to convince him to link up with them in the summer.

Speaking in an interview, the former FC Stockholm Internazionale loanee has told Swedish football news outlet Fotbollskanalen: ''I've mostly been driving and haven't had much focus on what has been written. But I know that there has been interest from both clubs (Bournemouth and Leverkusen) and that they contacted BP.
''I don't know how concrete it was. I thought Toulouse was a good step, we liked their plan and their development plan for me, so I think the choice was clear in the end,'' he added.
Oppong, who joined the Stadium de Toulouse campaigners on a five-year contract in a deal worth €3.50m, has so far figured in 4 games for TFC in the current 2026/27 Ligue 1.

Despite representing the Sweden U18, U19 & U21 national youth teams, the 19-year-old evergreen whiz kid could still switch nationality and play for Ghana at the senior level on the international stage given his Ghanaian lineage.
