The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the Slovakian heavyweights, with his new deal set to run through to 2030

Slovak First Football League side SK Slovan Bratislava have announced a four-year contract extension with Ghana international midfielder Rahim Ibrahim .

The former Accra Lions prodigy, who has been in fine form this season, has now been tied down to a long-term contract by the Sky Blues after attracting admiring glances from potential suitors for the next summer window.

An excerpt of official statement confirming the Black Star contract extension reads: "Rahim Ibrahim remains at the Blues. The management of ŠK Slovan Bratislava has agreed with the 25-year-old midfielder to extend his contract until the end of the 2029/30 season. The two-time champion with the Blues is looking forward to new challenges at the most successful Slovak club."

Right after appending his signature to the new deal, the left-footed midfielder has told his club's official website:

"I am very happy and grateful for the trust the club has shown in me. I am ready to give my all and repay what Slovan has invested in me. I already see Bratislava as my home, I have experienced wonderful moments in the Slovan jersey, and I believe that more are yet to come. I am always excited when I run out onto the pitch in the blue jersey and hear the cheering of our great fans. I am extremely looking forward to the continuation of this blue chapter."

Sporting director Ivan KmotríkJr. added: "If you remember, we tried to acquire Rahim Ibrahim in several transfer windows in the past and time has shown that our efforts were meaningful. At an excellent football age, he is one of the players who are interesting for foreign clubs, thanks to his parameters, and we have received several offers for him not only in the recent past. In addition, he was nominated for the Ghana national team for the first time in the last association deadline. That is why it was important for us to sign Rahim for a longer period. I am very happy that we have agreed to extend the contract and we believe that Rahim will show many more good moments in our jersey and will continue to improve, because his potential is enormous."

He has so far featured in 13 games by scoring 2 across all competitions for the Tehelné pole Stadium campaigners this season.

On the international stage, Rahim is yet to earn his international cap for the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars.
