The swedish elite division side have handed the Ghanaian teenager his first professional contract after rising through their youth ranks

Swedish-born Ghanaian starlet Sion Oppong has penned a professional contract with Allsvenskan side IF Brommapojkarna, the club have announced.

The 17-year-old promising star has elevated himself as a future prospect for the Grimsta IP Stadium campaigners and has now been tied down to a long-term deal given his talent as a budding star.

An official confirmation over the teenage sensation PRO contract read: "17-year-old Sion Oppong takes the step from P17 to the men's team when he signs his first senior contract. Oppong has gone all the way from the boys' school to the men's team in BP."

Oppong, who teamed up with BP at a very tender age in 2007, had this to tell his boyhood club right after signing his first deal via the club's official website: "It's really fun to now be with the first team in his parent club. I've been here since I was little and I'm looking forward to developing even more in the men's team."

Sporting director Philip Berglund added: "Sion has had an impressive journey and went incredibly hard last fall. He has followed that by really showing what he is capable of when he was in training with the men's team in January. He is well worth the chance."

During last term youth championship in Sweden, Oppong netted 14 goals in 26 appearance across all competitions. He also played an integral role for the BP U-17 side in their title triumph in both the Swedish and Scandinavian Championships.

Given his magnificent talent, Oppong could be a prospect in the nearest future for Ghana at the international level.
