Jonah Kusi-Asare reached a major milestone in his promising career on Saturday, April 26, as the 17-year-old Swedish-Ghanaian striker made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich.

Kusi-Asare came on as an 88th-minute substitute for Harry Kane during Bayern’s Matchday 31 fixture against FSV Mainz 05.

The young forward has been steadily progressing since joining Bayern Munich on February 1, 2024, in a reported €4.5 million move. Initially assigned to the club’s Under-19 side, his impressive performances quickly earned him a promotion to Bayern Munich II for the 2024–25 season.

Kusi-Asare made his Bayern Munich II debut on August 30, 2024, featuring in a 1–1 draw against DJK Vilzing in the Regionalliga Bayern.

His rapid development caught the attention of the first-team coaches, earning him a place in the senior squad for the first time on December 14, 2024, during a 2–1 defeat to Mainz.

Earlier this year, Kusi-Asare also appeared in a winter friendly on January 6, 2025, coming off the bench to replace Michael Olise in the 63rd minute of a commanding 6–0 win over Red Bull Salzburg.
