Swedish top-flight side Malmo FF have completed the signing of highly-rated 18-year-old Ghanaian forward Yassin Mohammed, marking a significant addition to their youth development project.

Mohammed earned a permanent deal after impressing during an extended trial period with Malmo’s U19 side, outperforming other trialists and catching the attention of the club’s technical team with his sharp movement, agility, and intelligent positioning in attack.

Born and raised in Ghana, the talented striker left a strong impression on Malmo’s scouts, particularly chief scout Jeffrey Aubynn, who discovered him during a scouting trip to Ghana. His performances in training sessions ultimately convinced the club to offer him a contract.

“Yassin is a talented striker who our chief scout Jeffrey discovered on a trip to Ghana,” said Malmo’s assistant sporting director Ola Toivonen. “He has excellent timing in his runs and we believe he has great potential to develop within our system.”

Mohammed will initially join the club’s U19 (P19) squad, where he will receive structured training and close mentorship as part of Malmo’s long-term strategy to nurture emerging talent.

The move reflects Malmo’s continued investment in identifying and developing promising players from Africa, a region that has consistently yielded top-tier prospects for the club.
