Red Star Belgrade winger Osman Bukari climbed off the bench to score his debut goal at the World Cup in Ghana's defeat to Portugal on Thursday evening.
Bukari needed just twelve minutes to announce his presence in the fixture which ended in a 3-2 win for Portugal in the Group H opener at the Stadium 974 in Doha.
The Black Stars commenced their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a defeat to the 2016 European champions in a five-goal thriller.
Skipper Andre Ayew levelled the score for the Black Stars on the 73rd minute after Cristiano Ronaldo had opened the floodgate via a spot-kick on the 65th minute for the Portuguese.
Atlético Madrid star Joao Felix and Rafael Leao extended the lead for Portugal before Bukari reduced the deficit for Ghana on the 89th minute of the game.
Bukari was introduced on the 77th minute to replace Ajax Amsterdam attacking midfielder Kudus Mohammed.
Ghana will battle it out with South Korea and Uruguay in the other Group H games.
