The midfield dynamo has been ruled out of the Black Stars' international friendly against Nicaragua on Tuesday.

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will miss Ghana's second Pre-World Cup friendly against Nicaragua due to injury.

Partey missed the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions game against Brazil at the Stade de Oceane on Friday evening.

The 28-year-old during warm-up suffered a discomfort around the knee and was excused from the game as a precautionary measure.

Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu replaced the former Atletico Madrid enforcer in the Brazil game which Ghana suffered a 3-0 defeat.

However, it has now been confirmed that Partey has been permitted to return to his parent club, Arsenal, and is now expected to miss the second friendly game on Tuesday, September 27.

He has left the Black Stars camp base in Deauville, France to head back to his parent club, Arsenal for further examination on his injury. He is expected to recover quickly for Arsenal's game against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend in the English Premier League.

Ghana trained this afternoon ahead of the second friendly against Nicaragua without Thomas Partey.

The Black Stars will leave for Lorca, Spain on Sunday to continue their preparations for the game against Nicaragua on Tuesday.
