The latest club to enter the race for Ghanaian defender Alexande Djiku is German Bundesligs side VFB Stuttgart who are desperate in capturing him for the 2023/24 football season.
The 28 year old has hit the free agency pool after exhausting his contract with French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg last month.
A host of European admirers including; Lille, Nottingham Forest and Mainz O5 have all been linked with a move for the Black Stars centre-back in this ongoing transfer window.
Just recently, there were emerging reports from the French media, Beşiktaş J.K have leapfrogged their competitors of Djiku's pursuit having tabled an official bid to land him this summer.
However, the Turkish giants are also likely to be overtaken by Stuttgart whom per reports have already getting in talks with the bulky defender and are keen on luring him this summer.
It's understood that RC Strasbourg Alsace are hell-bent on keeping their captain and with the recent investment by BlueCo, owners of Chelsea Football Club, the 28-year-old could stay put at the Stade de la Meinau for next term campaign.
Djiku has made over 120 appearances for RC Strasbourg Alsace since joining them from SM Caen in 2019.
He has been capped 20 times by Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars after opting to represent them on the international stage.
