Spanish-born Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams has admitted they (Athletic Club) have been very abysmal this season in terms of grinding results but added they are still putting in efforts to bounce back on track.

The Red-Whites haven’t been able to match their own standard this campaign and are currently finding themselves outside the top ten on the log after 21 league matches.

Inaki, as a player, has also been hugely affected with series of injuries and is still out having missed their game against Sevilla over the weekend.

The lanky striker has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far with just a goal to his belt and has urged their supporters to continue with their support as they look to bounce back stronger.

“Things aren't turning out the way we want them to. We know it, and we feel it. But this group remains standing.” He wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “There's still a long way to go; we're alive and with the same ambition as always”

“With your support, we're going to keep fighting every day, TOGETHER, until the end. The Athletic Club NEVER gives up. This team and this fan base will NEVER lower their arms. WE KEEP GOING!” he added.

Athletic Club are currently found in 12th place with 24 points and will host Portuguese champions Sporting CP in the final group phase game of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
