Ghanaian international Michael Baidoo has lauded his teammates in IF Elfsborg's campaign in the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League.

Despite securing only a win in the competition from three matches, Baidoo says he and his teammates are proud of their outputs and hoping to bounce back to winning against SC Braga in the match-day four.

IF Elfsborg will be hosting Portuguese outfit SC Braga at the Boraas Arena this evening, and the 25-year-old attacking midfielder is highly optimistic of a resounding victory.

The Yellow and Black lads suffered back-to-back defeats to Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar and Turkish giants Galatasaray after defeating AS Roma in the opening games.

However, Baidoo, who has had an incredible campaign for the Swedish club in the UEFA Europa League with five goals and three assists, says they are proud of their efforts in the competition.

“We are proud of the efforts we have made. The results have not been exactly what we wanted, but we have done many good things, and we take the positive bits with us,” Baidoo told the club's official website.

“We play against top teams with good players and gain good experience in every match.”

“We look forward to the challenge. We want to go out and play our best game, create scoring chances, and hopefully score more goals than in the game against Roma,” he added.

Baidoo expressed his gratitude to the club's fans for their unflinching support in their European campaign.

“They are incredibly important to us. We feel their support from the first to the last second, whether we are playing at home or away. Now we play at home and will need the support.”

“They have been amazing throughout this European trip, and I hope we can make more great memories together on Thursday.”

Baidoo has netted 15 goals and provided seven assists in 38 game outings across all competitions for IF Elfsborg in the ongoing season so far.

He has also received a call-up to the Black Stars for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Angola and Niger later this month.
