Austrian Bundesliga outfit LASK have completed the signing of 19-year-old Wesley Frimpong, the younger brother of Bayer Leverkusen's Dutch-Ghanaian star Jeremie Frimpong, from Bolton Wanderers in the ongoing transfer window.

The talented right-back was also being chased by German Bundesliga champions Bayern 04 Leverkusen, but has opted to join LASK to enhance his chances of breaking into the European scene in the coming years.

Frimpong's contract with Bolton was due to expire this summer, and he has decided not to renew it, choosing instead to make the move to Austria.

The young defender spent last season playing for Bolton's reserve side, but failed to earn a promotion to the senior squad.

Despite this, Frimpong remains eligible to represent both Ghana and the Netherlands at the senior national level.

He is set to join LASK's first team and is expected to make an impact in the Austrian top-flight.
