Ghana and Athletic Bilbao striker Iñaki Williams is plotting FC Barcelona downfall ahead of their upcoming La Liga game on Saturday, with fans urged to turn out in their massive numbers at the Estadio San Mamés to rally behind the team in ensuring victory at the end of the contest.
The 31-year-old experienced frontman was left red-faced when they were eliminated in the Spanish cup game by Real Sociedad on a 2-0 aggregate scoreline over two-legged ties in the semi-finals. However, with lnaki expressing his disappointment over the outcome of the game, the Athletic Bilbao skipper is still positive of a favourable campaign thereby urging his team-mates to fight for an European spot at the end of the season.
The Ghana marksman has told Spanish tabloid MARCA: ''A tough, damn defeat. We missed the chance to return to Seville. We were all excited about it. There are still challenges and goals to achieve.
''We have to fight for Europe; that has to be our objective. We need to start winning, look upwards, and put the past behind us. This doesn't stop, we have another great match ahead of us and we know San Mamés will be packed like it is for the big occasions, and we have to give them something to cheer about,” concluded Iñaki Williams.''
Iñaki has so far taken in 26 appearances by scoring 3 and assisting 2 for Athletic Bilbao across all competitions in this current 2025-26 campaign.
He currently boasts of 25 caps with the Ghana senior national team on the international stage, with 2 goals to his name.
