Emmanuel Oblitey, a Ghanaian football legend and member of Ghana's first AFCON winning squad in 1963, passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday at the Joy Specialist Medical Clinic.
Oblitey played in all three matches during the tournament.
He also competed in the men's football tournament at the 1964 Summer Olympics and had stints with Olympics, Real Republikans, and was part of the Black Stars team that toured Europe in 1961.
He is survived by seven children.
