Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu has called upon all Ghanaians, especially those in Kumasi, to rally behind the Black Stars as they strive to recover from their poor performance at the World Cup in Qatar and make a strong bid for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

Under new manager Chris Hughton, Ghana is set to play against Angola in a two-legged qualifier, with the first match scheduled to be held at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, March 23.

The return leg will be played in Luanda on March 27, and the winner of the two matches will secure a place in the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast next year.

Salisu, who has played for Ghana only six times, will be making his first appearance for the national team on home soil. He has called on all Ghanaians to unite and support the team as they strive to qualify for the tournament and make a significant impact on the global stage.

“Hello Kumasi, this is Mohammed Salisu from Black Stars. I’m coming home. Meet me at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23.”

“This will be my first time playing before you so come and support us to victory,” he told Ghana FA media.

In a statement to the Ghana FA media, Salisu urged fans to join him at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and support the team to victory. After two games, the Black Stars are tied on points with their Angolan counterparts, having recorded a 3-0 win and a 1-1 draw against Madagascar and the Central African Republic.
