The Uganda women's national under-20 team remain in residential camp as they prepare for the final round of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup African Qualifiers.
The team entered camp on Sunday at the FUFA Technical Centre ahead of their decisive two-legged tie against Ghana women's national under-20 team.
Midfielder Dorine Wandera, who plays for Amus College WFC, said the squad is confident and fully focused on reaching the World Cup.
“I am proud to be here. All the players are well prepared and focused. We want to give our best against Ghana and qualify for the World Cup. It is everyone’s dream to play at the World Cup,” Wandera noted.
She also spoke about the strong team spirit in camp, saying the positive environment and hard work from players have helped their preparations.
The Queen Cranes will meet Ghana's Black Princesses in the final qualification round, with the first leg scheduled to be played in Accra between May 1 and May 3, 2026. The return leg will take place on May 9, 2026, in Kampala.
The team that wins over the two matches will qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, set to be hosted in Poland.
