Medeama Sporting Club will return to the CAF Champions League next season after clinching their second-ever Ghana Premier League title.

The Yellow and Mauves sealed the 2025-26 league title with one game remaining after an impressive victory over Heart of Lions on Sunday.

The title triumph gives Medeama another chance to compete among Africa’s top clubs following a decade of steady growth on the continental stage.

Medeama enjoyed their best African campaign during the 2023-24 season when they reached the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

They were placed in a tough Group D alongside African heavyweights Al Ahly SC, Young Africans S.C. and CR Belouizdad.

Even though they did not get past the group stage, the campaign was a big success for the club and gave them important experience in top-level African football.

Before their Champions League breakthrough, Medeama also impressed in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In 2016, the club reached the group stage after eliminating Mamelodi Sundowns FC in the playoff round.

Medeama first made headlines in African football during their continental debut in 2014, when they reached the playoff stage after knocking out Maghreb de Fès before narrowly losing to AC Leopards.

The Ghanaian champions will now aim to build on their continental experience and make another strong impact in next season’s CAF Champions League.
