Newly appointed head coach of the Ghana national football team, Carlos Queiroz, says with the support of players and fans in unity, the Black Stars will bring success to the nation.
The 73-year-old experienced Portuguese manager has been trusted with the coaching job of the west African powerhouse on a short-term contract, with his immediate task to lead the Black Stars team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to the gathered pressmen during his unveiling, the former lran tactician has called on the playing body and the fans to be in unity so as to give a strong backing to the team.
''With the support of the fans and players, and in unity, we can do it and bring success,'' the former Manchester United assistant manager opined.
He added by acknowledging the daunting task ahead of him for the hot seat: ''l know things are rough, l can feel it. l feel the vibrations of the Black Stars. This is the biggest challenge in my entire career, and l am ready for it. l will bring my 40 years of experience.''
The former lran boss will have his first test at the helm when the Black Stars comes up against Mexico and Wales in a Pre-World Cup friendlies on May 22, 2026 and June 2, 2026 respectively.
Ghana have been paired alongside England, Croatia and Panama in group L of the 2026 World Cup to be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico in June this year.
