The German top division side have landed the signature of the talented teenager of Cameroonian descent from their elite club rivals ahead of the summer transfer window
German-born Cameroonian teenager Faik Sakar has joined Bundesliga club FC Augsburg from league adversaries RB Leipzig on a four-and-a-half-year contract, the club have announced.

The 18-year-old winger, who has passed through the youth ranks of the Red Bull Arena campaigners, has finally severed ties with his childhood club after spending four seasons together in the German Youth League Championship.
Announcing the long-term deal of the lndomitable Lions prospect winger, the Fuggerstädter have said in a statement: ''FC Augsburg have signed Germany youth international Faik Sakar for the start of next season. The 18-year-old attacking player will join FCA on a free transfer when his contract at RB Leipzig expires at the end of the current campaign. FCA have handed him a long-term deal until 30th June 2030.''

''In addition to making one Bundesliga appearance, Sakar mainly featured for Leipzig’s U17s, U19s and in the UEFA Youth League. The right-footed attacker has also represented Germany at U15, U16 and U17 level.''
Right after appending his signature to the deal, the enterprising budding star has told the club's official website: ''FCA offer young players the perfect environment to develop step by step. There are plenty of examples of that. I’m convinced that joining FCA is exactly the right step for my development, so I’m very happy to be an Augsburg player from this summer.''
Sporting director Benni Weber added: ''Faik Sakar is a very good fit for our sporting and strategic approach, as he is a young player with a great deal of potential. He has chosen FCA because we were able to present him with a clear plan for his development into a Bundesliga player.''

Given his Cameroonian heritage, the Berlin-born native teenager remains fit to play for the Cameroon national football team at the senior level, with France and Turkey also an option on the international stage.
