Carlos Queiroz says Ghana must prepare “the right way” in every area if the Black Stars are to perform well at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Ghana coach stressed the need for modern and detailed planning as the four-time African champions get ready for their fifth appearance at football’s biggest tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Ghana have been placed in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia in what is expected to be a difficult group.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, the Portuguese tactician said success at the World Cup would depend on careful preparation both on and off the pitch.
“We have to put the right preparation in place; training, diet, nutrition, physios, fitness, and the details of set pieces,” Queiroz said.
The Black Stars will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
As part of their preparations, Ghana will play friendly matches against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2, giving Queiroz more time to assess his squad ahead of the tournament.
The former Manchester United assistant coach is expected to announce his final World Cup squad on June 1 as preparations continue to intensify.
