The 21-year-old defender has put pen to paper on fresh terms over an extension with Los Califas, with his new deal set to take him through to 2027 at the Estadio El Arcángel

Ghanaian defender Jonathan Korbla has signed a one-and-a-half-year contract extension with Spanish Segunda División club Córdoba CF, the club have announced.

The former Tudu Mighty Jets FC rearguard, who joined the LaLiga2 outfit during the summer of 2025, is still being regarded as an important figure by the club's management despite the injury setback he suffered in October that kept him sidelined for the majority part of the current campaign.

ln a statement confirming the Ghanaian youngster contract extension, those at the upper echelon of the former Spanish top-flight campaigners have said via their club's official website: ''Córdoba CF and Jonathan Korbla (02-06-2004) have extended their contract until June 30, 2027.

''The defender, who joined last summer, will remain linked to the club despite the serious injury he suffered last October. In this way, the blancaverde entity reaffirms its commitment to the player's recovery, providing him with all the necessary resources to return in the best possible condition. Furthermore, the club has full confidence in Jonathan as a player with a promising future and great qualities.

''Córdoba CF celebrates Jona's continuity and wishes him much success in this new stage as a Blanquiverde.''

Jonathan is yet to earn his senior cap with the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars on the international stage.
