The 29-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent and Die Borussen are going their separate ways after being together for just six months in the just ended campaign

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have released German-born Ghanaian defender Leroy Kwadwo after joining up with them during the January transfer window.

The former TSV 1860 Munich centre-back would not be handed fresh terms by the Signal Iduna Park hierarchy if his current running contract comes to a close on June 30, 2026.

Per KICKER, Leroy Kwadwo, (29), Patrick Göbel (32), Jonas Feddersen (19), Prince Aning (22), Nick Cherny (18) and Babis Drakas (23) are the players from the BVB U23 team to leave this summer.

The former Dynamo Dresden centre-back was recruited for the Borussia Dortmund ll side for current 2025/26 football season on a six-month deal as a free agent.

He took in 9 appearances for the Black and Yellow U23 across all competitions in this just concluded 2025/26 football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Herten-born defender still remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level.
