The qualifiers for the 2022 Ashanti Regional Inter-Schools and Colleges boys soccer competition has finally been accomplished, with some surprising and expected results.
Defending champions Kumasi High School failed to make it into this year's edition, having failed to conquer Group 14 of the qualifiers, losing out the spot to Jacobu SHTS, who last featured in the competition in 2016 and got to the quarter final.
No any huge surprises again as T.I Amass, Prempeh College, Opoku Ware, Osei Kyeretwie, Osei Tutu all grabbed qualification and will be battling it out against each and the remaining schools for the tournament proper next week.
Islamic SHS on the run again, having secured their sixth consecutive qualification into the competition whereas high-flying Sakafia SHS- who won the Ashanti Top eight in 2018, also qualified with ten goals scored and none conceded.
The main competition is expected to commence on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Baba Yara Stadium
