Ghana's coach, Chris Hughton, commends Daniel Amartey's professionalism within the Black Stars camp, acknowledging his positive attitude despite not playing in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite being a key player for Besiktas in the Turkish top-flight, Amartey has yet to make an appearance for the Black Stars during the tournament. Hughton opted for Mohammed Salisu and Alexander Djiku in the central defense during the initial two games.

Before the Mozambique clash, Hughton revealed that he had discussed Amartey's limited playing time with him, emphasizing the player's high level of professionalism. Hughton stated, "Daniel Amartey is an extremely good professional. I'm not sure there is any player who is happy when he is not playing. I’ve spoken to him regarding his lack of games."

The upcoming match against Mozambique is crucial for the Black Stars, as a victory is essential for their progression to the next round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire. Similarly, Mozambique has the opportunity to advance with a win in Monday's match.

Having already secured the top spot in the group with consecutive victories against Ghana and Mozambique, Cape Verde has confirmed their advancement. Egypt holds the second position with two points, while both Ghana and Mozambique have a single point each. The competition intensifies as teams strive to secure their places in the tournament's next stage.
