Black Stars duo Thomas Partey and Gideon Mensah were not present at the team's first training session in Accra ahead of this weekend's game against Madagascar.

The senior national team of Ghana will be making a trip to Antananarivo to face Madagascar in the match-day five of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

 

Coach Chris Hughton assembled the twenty-five invited players to begin preparations on Monday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium for the all-important game against Madagascar.

 

AJ Auxerre left-back Gideon Mensah was absent from the Black Stars' first training session despite arrival at the team's camping base.

 

Also, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, who has been in the country since Saturday, was not present at the Black Stars training session this evening.

 

The team assembled in camp at the Swiss Spirits Alisa Hotel hit the ground running in this evening ahead of the crucial tie in Antananarivo.

 

Bechem United striker Hafiz Konkoni was handed a late call-up after an initial invitation of twenty-four squad list which included Alexander Djiku and Inaki Williams.

 

Duo Alexander Djiku and Inaki Williams have been replaced by Kassim Adams Nuhu and Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer due to injuries.

 

Ghana will take on Madagascar in Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
