The Black Satellites of Ghana exhibited a very good performance last night to record an important 1-0 victory over Senegal to advance to the final of the ongoing 2023 African Games.

The four-time African champions dominated every facet of the game right from onset and made lots of goal attempts and looked very poor upfront most especially in the first half.

Not until the 83rd minute mark where Samartex FC youngster Michael Ephson came off the bench and nipped on a huge goalkeeping clanger to score calmly from a close range to hand Ghana a crucial win that sent them to final.

Reacting to the win, the enterprising gaffer heaped praises on the performance of his players and added they were dominant throughout but was a bit surprised their opponents changed their approach which he never expected.

Also, the former Royal Antwerp technical team member admitted Senegal are a well-organised side and gave them a very difficult opposition.

"It was a very tough game, against a very good team that has been working very hard to compete at the highest level so had a lot of respect for them. We had to fight for it, it took us for a while despite dominating the game from the beginning."

"We were never in trouble, they chose a long ball which we were a bit surprised cos we thought they were going to play it's a good football playing team but that wasn't the case. We dealt with it well."

The Black Satellites will battle for the gold medal against Uganda in an epic final that is slated for Friday, March 22, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
