In-form Ghana attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been ruled out of Ghana's international friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda later this month, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.
Kudus, who is making headlines in the English Premier League at West Ham United with incredible goal scoring prowess in his debut season, has been excluded from the Black Stars friendlies due to injury.
The 23-year-old is currently nursing shoulder discomfort after last weekend's Premier League game for West Ham United against Aston Villa at the London Stadium.
He becomes the latest player to be excluded from the two matches with injuries after FC Lorient defender Nathaniel Adjei, Thomas Partey of Arsenal and Elisha Owusu.
Despite enjoying the full duration of the fixture, the Ghana international was scheduled for a medical examination on his shoulder, and the discomfort has ruled him out of the friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.
Mohammed Kudus remains one of Ghana's best players in European football this season, managing to score 11 goals and provide three assists in 34 appearances for the Hammers across all competitions.
He has capped 32 times for the senior national team of Ghana, with eleven goals to his credit since making his debut in 2019.
The Black Stars, after a disastrous AFCON campaign in Ivory Coast, are scheduled to play the Super Eagles of Nigeria on March 22 before facing Uganda on March 26 at the Stade Grade Marrakech in Morocco.
The Ghana Football Association earlier this month announced the appointment of Otto Addo as the new head coach of the Black Stars, with Joseph Laumann and John Paintsil as assistant coaches. Ex-Ghana international Fatawu Dauda also received the goalkeeper's trainer role in the newly structured technical team of the Black Stars.
