Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has called for unity, sacrifice and total commitment as the Black Stars intensify preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
In a message to supporters, Queiroz described Ghana’s journey to the tournament as a “Mission (Im)possible”, insisting the team must embrace discipline and hard work to succeed on football’s biggest competition.
“Today, with 24 days remaining before our first World Cup challenge, we begin what many may call a Mission (Im)possible,” he wrote.
The experienced tactician said success would only come through sacrifice and relentless effort from both players and staff.
“We know the price that must be paid, sacrifice, discipline, relentless effort and total dedication if we are to honour the dreams and expectations of the people of Ghana,” he said.
Queiroz also urged the squad to adopt a different mentality from the beginning of the mundial.
“If our dream is to make a difference at the end, we have to start by being different at the beginning,” he added.
The former Egypt and Iran coach says the team’s World Cup goal is connected to national pride, and that the Black Stars must show strong commitment and determination throughout the tournament.
“When the mission is to serve the pride, prestige and football soul of Ghana, pain becomes a privilege, sacrifice becomes duty and commitment becomes our identity.
“We are ready to fight together for every ball, every moment, for our dream.”

Queiroz is currently in Wales with 28 Black Stars players as Ghana continues preparations for an international friendly against Wales on Tuesday, 2 June, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
