Kurt Edwin Simone Okraku is set for his second term in office as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after emerging as the only eligible candidate for the upcoming GFA Presidential election.

Director of Division One League side Susubiribi SC, George Afriyie, who was eyeing for the seat has been disqualification from the race for breaching the Article 13(2) of the Ghana Football Association statues and also failure to provide the required number of persons to endorse his candidature.

This means Kurt Okraku will go unopposed in the 2023 Ghana Football Association Presidential election.

The electoral process is currently on hold following an injunction filed against the election committee of the Ghana Football Association by King Faisal FC.

Kurt Okraku was elected into office in 2019 following the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi as the Football Association's president after the Anas Exposé in 2018 which led to his ban from football related activities by FIFA.

Also, the decision from the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association on Monday, September 18, 2023 indicates that the former President of Dreams FC is the only candidate for the election which will be held in Tamale.

Kurt Okraku, who is eager to extend his reign as the leader of the country's football governing body will be re-elected unopposed by the GFA congress in the upcoming presidential election.
